FAQ

When I pick up the car, which documentation do I need to have?
  • Identification document

The Hirer and the Driver/s, specified in the contract, must physically present a valid national identification document (ID or Passport) as proof of identity.

If the document is not written in Latin, it must be accompanied by a certified translation of the document.

  • Valid driving license

All drivers, specified in the rental agreement contract, must physically present a valid, original driver’s license. In case of non-fulfillment of these conditions, it is necessary to show an international driver’s license.

Faxed or photocopied driving licenses are not accepted.

Where will I collect the vehicle?

The vehicle can be picked up in Split, at Split airport, Trogir, Kaštela, and Šibenik. The pick-up location will be agreed upon during the booking/reservation process, where we will consider your needs.

How old do I have to be, to rent a car from your rental company?

The authorized driver must be 22 years old (if the driver is between 18 and 21 years old, he pays the Young Driver Fee in the amount of €10 per day up to a maximum of €87.50 for the total rental time and must buy PREMIUM insurance). The authorized driver must have a driver’s license for at least 2 years without any significant restrictions, if not, the young driver fee + PREMIUM insurance will be applied.

Can I return the vehicle to a place other than where it was picked up?

The vehicle is returned at the original pick-up point unless otherwise agreed during the booking process.

What is the car charging equipment?

When picking up the vehicle, the “Home Charger Cable” and “Charging Station Cable” are downloaded. The first allows you to charge your vehicle via a home socket, and the second serves for charging at public charging stations. Do I need to have a credit card to rent a vehicle?

It is not necessary to have a credit card to rent a vehicle, but please note that if you do not have a credit card, you must purchase PREMIUM insurance and pay the fee for not having a credit card, in the amount of €30.

What steps should I take in the event of a car accident?

In case of accident, damage, theft, loss of the vehicle and similar circumstances, the driver is obliged to:

  1. Do not move the vehicle, but take photos of the accident scene
  2. Immediately report such an incident to the police.
  3. Report the incident to a representative of LunaRo rent e car (phone or e-mail)
  4. Record all participants in the incident.
Can I collect the vehicle if I forgot my driver’s license?

Unfortunately, no. A valid driver’s license is the basic requirement that you must meet in order to rent a vehicle.

Can the franchise deposit be reduced to zero?

Yes, if you choose the PREMIUM insurance option, the security deposit for the franchise will be reduced to zero. Please note, even if you take Premium Insurance, we will pre-authorize a security deposit for Parking fines and Traffic offenses up to €120. The amount will be automatically returned to you if there are no parking fines or traffic violations during the rental period.

Can I get a refund if I return the rented vehicle earlier?

Unfortunately we can not refund you for any part of your hire that you do not use.

What is the minimum vehicle rental period and the permitted delay in returning the vehicle?

The minimum vehicle rental period is one (1) day. A delay of 59 minutes when returning the vehicle is not charged, if our company is informed about it, the next 3 hours of delay are charged at €10 per hour, and for exceeding 4 hours, a full day’s rental is charged.

How will I find your location?

You will receive all the necessary information with detailed maps, phone numbers, and other data in the confirmation e-mail.

Does passenger accident insurance (PAI) cover all medical expenses in the event of an accident?

Passenger accident insurance insures the lessor of the vehicle (driver and three passengers) against injury or death. Fees are paid at the insurance company where the renter or passengers have an insurance policy In short, in case of death, the insurance policy is HRK 40,000.00 (approx EUR 5,300.00), and in case of permanent disability HRK 80,000.00 (approx EUR 10,600.00).

Does Super CDW (SDW) remove deductible completely?

Full comprehensive insurance eliminates additional costs, but you will still have to pay a deposit in case of a traffic accident or traffic violation (around €120).

Can I smoke in the rental car?

No, smoking is not allowed inside the vehicle. If the smell of tobacco is detected when the vehicle is returned, a special cleaning fee is applicable.

How will I recognize the person who will be waiting for me?

Our employees will wait for you at the meeting point with a banner bearing your and our company’s names.

Having those clues, please proceed toward our employee.

How will I know that my reservation has been confirmed?

After confirming the reservation, you will receive an info e-mail pending. Ones you place a booking request, we will check the availability of the vehicle and based on that send you a return e-mail with details about confirmation or cancellation of your reservation. Please note that the email may be delivered to your junk/spam folder. If you have not received an e-mail from us, please check the mentioned folders first.

How charged must the battery be when returning the vehicle?

The vehicle must have a minimum of 20 kilometers of autonomy, and then it is considered that the vehicle was returned charged. In the case of returning a vehicle with less autonomy than stated, there may be additional costs in case of battery failure and battery recovery, as there is a possibility that the electric charge will be completely discharged before the car arrives at our charging point.

What is the vehicle pickup time?

Working hours are every day from 08:00 to 20:00. If the collection or return of the car takes place outside working hours, this service will cost you €30 for the collection or return of the car. If you need to pick up and return the car outside of working hours, it will cost you €30 + €30.

How can I pay for a vehicle rental?

Payment is made at the car pick-up location, in cash, or by any credit card (VISA, MASTERCARD, and AMEX). Credit card holders must be present for signature.

If my arrival flight is delayed, will your employee wait for me to deliver the vehicle?

Of course, our employee will be waiting for you. All our employees are always informed about arrivals, as well as about changes that may occur, and are waiting for your arrival in order to deliver the vehicle to you. Please note that a special Out of Hours Vehicle Delivery Charge will apply if you arrive outside of regular hours (08:00-20:00).

Can another person take over the reservation under my name?

Unfortunately, no. It is crucial that the reservation holder and the main driver are present at the time of vehicle collection or we will not be able to hand over the vehicle.

Are there other costs and additional fees?

There are no hidden fees and costs, prices are listed on the website and all information is sent to your e-mail. Transparency is a key value for us. We want you to travel to your destination with the utmost peace of mind, without worrying about surprises or unexpected events.

Is it possible to change the reservation, ones the same is confirmed from my side?

You can reserve a vehicle without paying in advance, payment will be made only when the vehicle is picked up. Enjoy maximum mobility and flexibility. Change (if the time slot is available) or cancel the current reservation at any time before the start of the rental. There are no rebooking or cancellation fees.

How is the vehicle rental price calculated?

Prices are based on 24-hour rental day, starting from the time specified during the booking process.

What if I lose a car key?

We will provide a new key. The price for this service is 100 € for the delivery new key + A Loss Of Key Fee applies in the amount of the price of the official car dealer.

I have not received a refund of the security deposit?

The security deposit will be returned within 15 to 30 days from the day of authorization. Otherwise, contact your bank to release the funds.

What does Vehicle Theft Protection (TP) cover?

Vehicle theft insurance only covers the theft of the vehicle, not the items inside the vehicle.

What is a franchise security deposit?

The security deposit is an amount that is blocked on the customer’s credit card as a guarantee of the car that has been provided. The amount of the deposit varies depending on the category of the rented car.

Can I reserve a child seat?

Yes, we have child seats available in our offices for different age groups, so you can travel comfortably and safely with little ones.

Can I travel with a pet in the vehicle?

Yes, of course, you can travel with your pet, but you must follow the applicable safety regulations (pet carrier or seat belt). If you decide to travel with your pet, keep in mind that pet hair is one of the reasons why the Special Cleaning Fee can be charged, and we suggest vacuuming the vehicle before returning it.
